Movies Showing This Weekend in Pakistan (August 21–23, 2026)
Three new releases hit Pakistani cinemas this Friday, and one of them is about to own the weekend. 20 movies, 915 showtimes, 17 cinemas across seven cities. Spider-Man: Brand New Day leads with 299 showtimes — roughly one in every three shows in the country — but the new Insidious: Out of the Further opens wide with 265, the biggest horror opening we've tracked this year.
The other newcomers: Mutiny, a Jason Statham action film at all 17 cinemas, and Judaa, a Punjabi romance opening at 4 cinemas in Punjab. The Odyssey is in week six and still holding 92 showtimes at 12 cinemas, which tells you how well Nolan travels here.

Movies Showing in Lahore This Weekend
Lahore has the widest selection in the country: 19 movies, 7 cinemas, 396 showtimes.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day leads with 120 Lahore showtimes, with Insidious: Out of the Further right behind at 100. The Odyssey has 44, mostly at CUE Cinemas, which is running 29 shows of it on its own.
The cinemas: CUE Cinemas, Cinepax Packages Mall, Cinestar Township, Cinestar Xinhua Mall, Cinestar DHA Raya Club, Cinepax Amanah Mall, and Cinegold Lahore.
CUE is the outlier this weekend. It is carrying 16 of the 19 Lahore titles, including seven you cannot watch anywhere else in the city: Toy Story 5, Obsession, Michael, The Legend of Maula Jatt, Hellcat, The Devil Wears Prada 2, and Minions and Monsters. Yes, Maula Jatt is back on a screen in 2026, four shows only.

Movies Showing in Karachi This Weekend
Karachi has 7 movies across 4 cinemas — Nueplex Askari IV, Nueplex DHA, Cinepax Ocean Mall, and Cinegold Karachi — with 361 showtimes. Fewer titles than Lahore, but the volume is nearly identical.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Insidious: Out of the Further are tied at 117 Karachi showtimes each. Nueplex Askari IV is the single busiest cinema in Pakistan this weekend — 64 Insidious shows alone, which is more than some entire cities are getting.
Karachi's exclusive: Mulu Nakru, a Thai horror film dubbed in Urdu, playing only at the two Nueplex locations with 14 showtimes. Nueplex keeps picking up these dubbed Asian horror titles and they keep quietly filling halls.

Movies Showing in Islamabad This Weekend
Islamabad has 5 movies across 2 cinemas — Cinepax World Trade Center and Cinegold Islamabad — with 54 showtimes.
The lineup: Spider-Man: Brand New Day (23 showtimes), Insidious: Out of the Further (18), The Odyssey (6), Mutiny (5), and Carry On Jatta 4 (2).
It is a thin weekend for the capital compared to Lahore and Karachi, so if a specific showtime matters to you, book ahead — with only two cinemas, the good slots go first.

Top 5 Movies This Weekend
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
299 showtimes, all 17 cinemas, every city. Four weeks in and it is still adding screens instead of losing them. It is also the only movie in Pakistan showing in 3D this weekend, and there is an Urdu dubbed version for families.
Top venues: Nueplex Askari IV (49 shows), CUE Cinemas (45), Cinepax Ocean Mall (33). See all showtimes.
Insidious: Out of the Further
The big new release. 265 showtimes at all 17 cinemas on opening weekend, in English and Urdu. For a horror film, that is a massive rollout — wider than most superhero openings get here.
If you are watching it in Lahore, CUE's Dolby Atmos is my standing recommendation for horror; every creak comes from somewhere specific. In Karachi, Nueplex Askari IV has 64 shows, so you can basically walk in whenever. See all showtimes.
The Odyssey
92 showtimes at 12 cinemas in week six. Nolan's Homer adaptation refuses to leave, and at 173 minutes it is the longest thing playing. CUE has 29 shows; both Nueplex locations in Karachi have it too. If you have been putting it off, the halls are calmer now than they were in July. See all showtimes.
Mutiny
New this Friday. Jason Statham, 95 minutes, no wasted motion. 70 showtimes across all 17 cinemas, so it is everywhere without dominating anywhere. This is the pick if the Insidious queue is too long and you still want something loud. See all showtimes.
The End of Oak Street
45 showtimes at 7 cinemas in week two. A sci-fi mystery from David Robert Mitchell, in English and Urdu. Karachi is carrying it harder than Lahore — 28 showtimes to 17 — with Nueplex Askari IV leading at 16. See all showtimes.

How to Book Cinema Tickets in Pakistan
Cinepax bookings run smoothest through Bookme.pk. CUE's own site (cuecinemas.com) is the best chain website in the country. Cinestar's app works better than their website. Nueplex bookings go through nueplex.com, and Cinegold sells through their site with Gold, Red, and Platinum lounge tiers.
Friday and Saturday evening shows for Insidious and Spider-Man will fill up — book those in advance. Sunday matinees are your safest walk-in bet.
Whatever you pick, check live cinema showtimes on Derooj before you leave the house. Screens shift over the weekend, especially for new releases.
Showtimes are based on Derooj data scraped the morning of August 21. Universal Cinemas' website was unreachable at scrape time, so their Lahore and Multan showtimes are not included this weekend. For the latest data, check derooj.com.
