Movies Showing This Weekend in Pakistan (June 12–14, 2026)

Omer Khan12 min read

Twenty-six movies across 13 cinemas this weekend, with 599 showtimes between them. The big story is at the top: Obsession has overtaken Zombeid for the number one spot with 132 showtimes at every cinema we track. Zombeid drops to second with 106 — still a strong hold for its second weekend. The new arrivals are Backrooms, a horror-mystery that opened straight into 12 cinemas with 84 showtimes, and Disclosure Day, a sci-fi thriller with 69 showtimes at 11 cinemas.

Horror keeps winning in Pakistan. Three of the top four movies this weekend are horror or horror-adjacent. The Punjabi slate runs eight deep again — Oye Bhole Oye 2 is the new entry there, opening with 30 showtimes.

For live cinema showtimes updated throughout the day, check derooj.com — we pull data from Cinestar, Cinepax, CUE, Universal, Nueplex, and Cinegold across all three cities.

Top 5 Movies This Weekend in Pakistan

1. Obsession — 132 Showtimes at 13 Cinemas

Obsession takes the crown in its second weekend, climbing from 96 showtimes to 132. That is the kind of week-two growth you almost never see — word of mouth is doing the heavy lifting. Horror-thriller, rated 7.9, 108 minutes, 2D. Lahore has 73 showtimes at all 8 cinemas, Karachi has 49 at 3 cinemas, and Islamabad has 10 at both Cinepax locations.

Nueplex Askari IV in Karachi has 30 showtimes — the most committed schedule for any movie at any cinema this weekend. In Lahore, Universal Emporium has 22 and CUE Cinemas has 14. For horror, CUE's Dolby Atmos is still my pick.

2. Zombeid — 106 Showtimes at 13 Cinemas

Zombeid slips from first to second but is still at every cinema in the country. 106 showtimes, down from 154 last weekend — a normal second-week drop. Romance-thriller-action, 105 minutes, 2D. Lahore has 54 showtimes, Karachi has 40, Islamabad has 12.

I wrote a full review of Zombeid if you are still deciding. Pakistan's first zombie film is worth seeing for the swing it takes, whatever you make of the landing.

3. Backrooms — 84 Showtimes at 12 Cinemas

Backrooms is the biggest new release of the weekend. Horror-mystery-sci-fi, rated 6.8, 111 minutes. It opened into 12 cinemas with 84 showtimes — Karachi took to it immediately with 39 showtimes at all 3 cinemas, nearly matching Lahore's 40 at 7 cinemas.

Nueplex Askari IV has 18 showtimes and Nueplex DHA has 15. In Lahore, Universal Emporium has 14 and CUE Cinemas has 11. If the internet-lore premise means anything to you, you already know whether you are going.

4. Disclosure Day — 69 Showtimes at 11 Cinemas

Disclosure Day is the other new arrival, and the best-reviewed of the two — rated 7.7. Sci-fi thriller, 146 minutes, so plan your evening around it. 69 showtimes at 11 cinemas: Lahore has 40, Karachi has 27, Islamabad has 2 at Cinepax Jinnah Park.

Universal Emporium is betting big on this one with 20 showtimes. Nueplex Askari IV has 13 and Nueplex DHA has 11. A 146-minute sci-fi thriller is exactly the kind of movie that rewards a good screen — CUE or either Nueplex.

5. Michael — 46 Showtimes at 10 Cinemas

Michael holds its top-5 spot again. Rated 8.5, it is the highest-rated movie playing in Pakistan this weekend. Music-drama, 128 minutes. 46 showtimes at 10 cinemas: Lahore has 29 at 6 cinemas, Karachi has 15 at all 3, Islamabad has 2.

Nueplex Askari IV has 9 showtimes and CUE Cinemas has 7. A music biopic lives or dies on the sound system, so CUE's Atmos is the obvious choice in Lahore.

Best Movies to Watch This Weekend in Pakistan

For horror fans: This is your weekend again. Obsession (7.9 rating, 132 showtimes) is the one everyone is seeing. Backrooms is the new release if you want something fresh. Psycho (rated 8.4) is down to 7 showtimes, so this might be your last chance. Kafir: Gerbang Sukma and Siccin 9 both have Urdu options. Go to CUE Cinemas in Lahore for any of these — horror in Dolby Atmos is a different experience.

For action and sci-fi fans: Disclosure Day (rated 7.7, 146 minutes) is the big new sci-fi thriller. Masters of the Universe is fading fast — down to 17 showtimes from 64 last weekend — so catch it now if you have been putting it off. It is still available in English and Urdu. Mortal Kombat II hangs on at Universal Emporium with 2 showtimes.

For families: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (rated 8.2) has 8 showtimes at Cinepax Packages Mall, CUE, and Cinepax Jinnah Park. Hoppers (also 8.2) is a CUE exclusive with 6 showtimes. The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act is at 5 cinemas across all three cities.

For Punjabi cinema fans: Eight Punjabi films this weekend. Oye Bhole Oye 2 is the new comedy and the biggest with 30 showtimes at 6 cinemas. Luv Di Saun and Chal Mera Putt 4 are still playing in all the right places. Viyaah Kartaare Da, Sardaar Ji 3, Shera, Honsla Rakh, and Chardikala round out the slate, mostly at Universal Emporium.

For date night: Michael (rated 8.5) is the quality pick — a music drama that sounds best at CUE. The Devil Wears Prada 2 has 2 showtimes left at Cinepax Packages Mall if you want something lighter.
