Top Movies in Pakistan This Week (June 22 – 28, 2026)

Omer Khan10 min read

Obsession holds the number one spot for the second chart in a row. 282 showtimes across all 15 cinemas — down from 376 two weeks ago, but still the only movie this week playing at every single cinema we track. The big new arrival is Toy Story 5, opening at number two with 125 showtimes across 12 cinemas. Available in 2D, 3D, and Urdu dubbed — the most format options on the chart this week.

The surprise story is Backrooms. It had 18 showtimes two weeks ago, barely a presence. This week it has 96 across 13 cinemas. That is the kind of expansion you see when word of mouth kicks in. Zombeid, which was the number one movie two weeks ago with 388 showtimes, has dropped to 117. Still third, but the steep fall tells you the initial rush is over.

The overall numbers are down. 925 total showtimes this week compared to 1663 two weeks ago. 26 movies instead of 30. The big blockbuster window has closed and we are in a transitional phase — but the Punjabi lineup is filling the gap. Eight Punjabi films are on the chart this week.

Still the top movie in Pakistan this week. A horror-thriller rated 7.9, running 108 minutes, playing at every cinema we track. Cinegold Islamabad and Cinegold Karachi lead with 42 showtimes each, followed by Cinegold Lahore with 30 and Nueplex DHA with 26.

Toy Story 5 — 125 Showtimes, 12 Cinemas

The big new opening this week. Pixar's latest has 125 showtimes across 12 cinemas, making it the second most-screened movie in Pakistan right now. Rated 7.4, running 102 minutes. Available in 2D, 3D, and Urdu dubbed — the only movie this week with three format-language options.

Nueplex DHA leads with 21 showtimes, followed by CUE Cinemas, Cinegold Lahore, and Cinegold Karachi at 18 each. Nueplex Askari IV has 13, and Cinepax Packages Mall has 12.

Playing at Nueplex DHA, CUE Cinemas, Cinegold Lahore, Cinegold Karachi, Nueplex Askari IV, Cinepax Packages Mall, Cinestar Township, Universal Emporium, Cinepax Ocean Mall, Cinestar Xinhua Mall, Cinestar DHA Raya Club, and Cinepax Amanah Mall.

Not in Islamabad yet — none of the three Islamabad cinemas are showing it. If you are in Islamabad and want Toy Story 5, you will have to wait or travel. For everyone else, the 3D version at locations that carry it is the way to watch an animated Pixar film. Families have a proper option this week.

Zombeid — 117 Showtimes, 14 Cinemas

Down from 388 showtimes two weeks ago to 117. That is a steep drop, but 117 across 14 cinemas is still a strong hold. The Pakistani romance-thriller-action film is still the third most-screened movie in the country.

Cinegold Karachi leads with 18, Nueplex Askari IV has 17, and Cinepax Amanah Mall has 15. It is playing everywhere except Cinestar DHA Raya Club. 2D English across the board.

The first-week rush is over but the movie is not going away. 14 cinemas is still near-universal coverage. If you missed the opening wave, this is a good week to catch it — the halls will be less packed.

Backrooms — 96 Showtimes, 13 Cinemas

This is the sleeper hit of the chart. Two weeks ago, Backrooms had 18 showtimes at 3 cinemas. Now it has 96 across 13 cinemas. That is a 5x expansion — cinemas do not add screens like that unless they are seeing real demand.

A horror-mystery-sci-fi film rated 6.9, running 111 minutes. CUE Cinemas and Cinegold Karachi lead with 18 showtimes each, Nueplex DHA has 10, and Cinepax Packages Mall has 9.

Playing at 13 of 15 cinemas — only Cinegold Lahore and Cinepax Amanah Mall are not showing it. 2D English. The internet-horror premise clearly resonated. CUE's Atmos will serve this well if you are in Lahore.

Michael — 69 Showtimes, 12 Cinemas

The music biopic keeps showing up. Down from 158 showtimes two weeks ago to 69, but still at 12 cinemas. Rated 8.7 — the highest-rated movie on the entire chart — with a 128-minute runtime.

CUE Cinemas is still giving Michael the most love at 21 showtimes, followed by Cinepax Packages Mall with 9 and Nueplex DHA with 7. Playing across Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad at Cinepax, CUE, Cinegold, Nueplex, Universal, and Cinestar locations.

Five weeks in and still 69 showtimes. The word of mouth carries this one. CUE's Atmos is still the pick — a music biopic and a Dolby Atmos sound system is a natural pairing.

What to Watch This Week

The safe bets: Obsession if you want what everyone is watching — 282 showtimes means every cinema has multiple daily shows. Toy Story 5 for families — the 3D and Urdu dubbed options make it accessible to everyone, and 125 showtimes means you will find a convenient time.

The sleeper pick: Backrooms at CUE Cinemas if you like horror-sci-fi. The 5x expansion in screen count does not happen without reason. CUE's Atmos is ideal for this.

For holdovers: Michael at CUE is still the pick if you have not caught it. 8.7 rating, five weeks in, and CUE is still giving it 21 showtimes. The music deserves good speakers.

Punjabi cinema is having a moment — eight films on the chart. Oye Bhole Oye 2 (32 showtimes) and Chal Mera Putt 4 (30) are the biggest, with Carry On Jatta 4 at 11 cinemas despite limited daily slots.
